I use both a Griffin and a Regal. I've had the Girffin a long, long time and it's a sweet little vise. I really love it. My dad passed on his Regal to me recently as well, and I really like it too so far, however its the full blown rotary style and I really dont use that feature much--other than to look at the 360 view of my fly. It's sweet but has a little more than I need. If I could afford it I would get one of their other vises.

I use an old clamp on thompson model a. It was given to me as a starter 25 years ago. It is old, has some surface rust, and still works like a champ. I have brand new one in the box that is a tad older waiting as a backup.

What do you think of your vise? I'm considering getting one myself.

Default new vise

Santa brought me a Dyna King Jr. Trekker. Nice vise, holds a hook very well...I'm still getting used to the rotary thing...

Hanks has a regal sitting on the counter for $120 after the 30% discount...thats a good deal.

Renzetti Presentation 4000 too. Got the cam jaw upgrade after about two decades of using the screw jaws.
Here's a deal that is very hard to beat:

I'm using an $11 cheapo model that comes in a blue box...that's all I know. I'm only tying eggs, caddis, easy nymphs and midges so far though. If I get into clousers or such, I'll need to upgrade. Need to see if I can tie stones and hex's first.

I saw a guy with a Regal recently too....I liked that one.

Renzetti traveler. I bought it years ago when I was single and love it. Tried others, but this is the best I have used..Scott

Depends on what I am tying...pretty much use a Dan, Xeon or a Nor vise. Hey...so what are you going to do with the HMH???

Went from a Renzetti Traveler to a HMH Spartan Last Summer. I will upgrade to a HMH Standard sometime in 2010.

Started out with a Griffin spider, but when I started tying tube flies, I found that it would not accommodate the tube fly attachment. Ended up with a Dyna-King Trekker. Great vise and will handle large variety of hook sizes and the tube fly attachment.

I use a Peak vise and a Renzetti traveler, both great vises. The Peak is made in the US and has excellent customer service....the Renzetti, well I have had no need for customer service, it's a great vise.
