White fly
Rack8654 , I think those white flies are moths if I remember right. But then again it's a bit early for them.

Dave,
Thanks for the input, but I don't think they were moths. They were tiny (maybe a 20,22), with well defined wings. some kind of midge...I think. A size 14 parachute adams worked well for about 10 brookies under 8". I think I could have gotten the big guys to rise to something more immitative. I saw them lurking, but couldn't get them to budge. Any more ideas, or do you still think it is a moth?

I found a white fly from one of the Orvis hatch charts for Eastern US that use white body & grizzly hackle. I think I will tie some traditionals with white wings and some parachutes with a white post in 20,22 for next year.

adams #14
Waded the Little Man all last week.Landed nice 10" to 16" browns and rainbows on #14 Adams. There are monsters in there, but, could not get
them out from the downstream side of log jams. Tried to sink some nymphs under jams with no luck. Lost all flies that I tried. Casting
upstream on the Little Man is a chore with the fast current. Water was
so low and nice, I fished all week in shorts. I wont do that again as my legs are covered with poison ivy.
Anyone have any tricks to get the monsters out of log jam holes?

AuSable River Hatch chart
I would think that most are the same time unless the weather screws them up. Take a look at this chart...
